XANADU

Drawing from the utopian optimism of the 1950s to 1970s—a golden era of futuristic visions—this design project reimagines the era’s boundless creativity through a modern lens. Inspired by the bubble-like architecture of Xanadu Homes and the eerie, electronic compositions of Raymond Scott, the collection uses bamboo as a sculptural medium to expose and twist the body. The designs blend mid-century modern aesthetics with a playful distortion, evoking the sleek lines and experimental energy of a time when technology promised to reshape the world. Beginner AI tools echo the spirit of early digital exploration, creating garments that feel like wearable relics from a retro-futuristic dreamscape, where identity melts into the allure of progress.
